The Westbrook Muster
The Westbrook Muster is held annually the fourth weekend in August at Ted Lane Field in Westbrook, Connecticut. Over 40 corps from across the United states, and often internationally, are invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public, with several vendors and food for sale by the Westbrook Boy Scouts.
2024 WESTBROOK MUSTER SCHEDULE
Early Camping | Thursday, August 22
5:00pm-8:00pm - Early Camping is available for a donation of $10 per tent/camper. Corps canopies may also be set up (free of charge).
11:00pm - Curfew, per Town of Westbrook (till 8am). No generators or loud noises (including music) are allowed after this time.
Tattoo | Friday, August 23
8:00am - Field Opens for regular camping and field set up.
7:00pm - Tattoo, featuring the annual flag ceremony and special corps performances. Open jam session to follow.
11:00pm - Curfew, per Town of Westbrook (till 8am). No generators or loud noises (including music) are allowed after this time.
Muster | Saturday, August 24
9:00am - Registration Opens at the announcers booth (on muster field). Registration will be closed during the parade, reopening after.
11:00am - Parade Step Off. Corps performances to follow on Ted Lane Field, concluding with an open jam session.
3:00pm-5:00pm -Muster Meal is served in the Westbrook Fire House for participating corps members only.
11:00pm - Curfew, per Town of Westbrook (till 8am). No generators or loud noises (including music) are allowed after this time.
Field Clean Up | Sunday, August 25
8:00am - Field Clean Up to begin.
12:00pm - Ted Lane Field must be completely cleared and vacated.

AlcoholAlcoholic beverages are permitted in the fenced camping and muster field areas only. It is a town ordinance and strictly enforced. The legal drinking age in CT is 21. It is against the law to supply anyone under age 21 with alcohol and persons doing so are subject to arrest.

CampingRegular Camping opens Friday, August 23, at 8:00am. Early Camping will be offered Thursday, August 22, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm ($10 per tent/camper). No admittance between 8pm Thursday to 8am Friday. No cars may be parked in the camping area, you may unload and then immediately move your vehicle. No open flames, holes, or dogs are permitted. Camping is limited to muster participants and their families only. Ted Lane Field must be completely cleared by 12:00pm on Sunday, August 25.

Corps CanopiesCorps are limited to one 12x12 canopy around the muster field. Canopies may be set up during early camping hours (5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, August 22) or after regular camping opens (9:00am on Friday, August 23). Any larger canopies require special approval before the muster. You may request approval by emailing westbrookdrumsecretary@gmail.com.

Corps RegistrationRegistration will be at the announcers table from 9:00am to 10:00 am on Saturday. If you miss this opportunity, it will open again once the muster has started. Registration forms are available on our website if you would like to fill it out beforehand and bring completed to the announcers booth.

GeneratorsGenerators may not be operated during hours of curfew, 11:00pm to 8:00am, for any reason.

Hours of CurfewHours of curfew are 11pm to 8am. The Town of Westbrook has extended evening curfew to 11:00pm on the muster for the event. No fifing, drumming, music, loud conversations, etc. after this time. Please respect the curfew, fellow campers, and our Westbrook neighbors.

Muster Line UpThe muster line up is determined by invitation response time and will be announced on Friday, August 23 at 9:00am on our Facebook page and Website. If a corps decides not to perform on stand, the next corps will take its place. Tattoo lineup and other announcements may be made beforehand.

Muster MealThe muster meal will be served from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Westbrook Fire House for participating corps members only. Food will be for sale at the muster field for the general public throughout the day.

ParkingFollow all posted parking signs and directions from local authorities and Westbrook Drum Corps members. Failure to comply may result in your vehicle being towed at your expense. Vehicles may not be parked in the camping area, even if planning to sleep in your vehicle. Public parking lots and overflow lots are available surrounding the muster field. Corps busses have a designated parking area behind the Wilcox Offices located at 1179 Boston Post Road, Westbrook, CT.

Performance TimeWe must limit on-stand performances to 8 minutes (including marching on and off). Failure to comply may result in a revoked invitation or late slot in next year’s muster lineup.
